Day 146, Year 3 (876)

Are you crazy? We had a duck couple wandering through our neighborhood this afternoon.  I grabbed my camera and stood in the rain on the very wet doorstep in stocking feet.  As the ducks waddle past on the other side of the street, the male stopped and looked straight at me.  I'm pretty sure he had that "Are you crazy?" look in his eye.  ha!  We were lucky today and all of the really heavy rain missed us.  We had either a constant drizzle or a steady rain.  Another very productive day.

Worth the wait...   Today we got a good look at our baby robins.  There seems to be just two of them.  The leaves on the tree were in the way to see the second one but this was the best shot of the day.  The parents allow me to walk up to within about 20 feet of the tree without having too many issues.  They only swooped at me once while I waited for the babies to pop their little heads up.  There are two other views of the babies in the photos below.  Then there is one more photo of more wildlife in our front yard.    You can click on the photos to make them bigger to see all the details.

Boys will be boys...   Today was once again a dark, gloomy day here in Minnesota.  When there isn't any sunshine there is also no color to our landscape.  Even the pine trees lose their deep green color and look brown and blah.  Wanting to take outdoor photos while the weather was warmer we went in search of outdoor color.  Maybe in a building or ?? The first stop was at a local theater that has this beautiful, bright colored mural on the side of the building.  But outdoor color was found in the most unexpected place.  In a park overlooking the Rum River there were dozens of ducks.  These brightly colored "boys" walked right up to the camera, quacking and asking for a little attention.
