Day 270, Year (1000)

Image
Between Today is day 1000 of my 365 Project!  I haven't posted photos every day this year because life has been busy and other things are more important.   My plan was to take a spectacular photo of the lunar eclipse.  What a grand idea.  While taking said photos dozens of lunar eclipse photos appeared on Facebook.  Such a clever idea I had.  Not.  (: I took some good photos but not what I wanted for this day's photo. The above photo was taken in my beloved state of Wisconsin.  Another photo that shows the peace and tranquility I find when I visit. Here's to a 1000 more days of photos. Peace.

Day 135, Year 3 (865)

Floored. When you spend most of your weekend manning your business' booth at a bodybuilding competition there isn't much time for photo taking.  At least ones that aren't of bodybuilders (I have plenty of those over the past 16 years).   This one was taken while squatting on the floor attempting to get photos of shoes.  Everyone seemed to be in such a hurry so I just un-zoomed the lens and started shooting.   There was some amount of intrigue when I downloaded this photo so it become today's photo. Good enough reason in my book. ha! Also, after typing this I realized I have never taken a photo of a bodybuilder for my 365 Project.  At least not that I remember.  They've been a part of my life for a really long time and haven't made it on my photo blog.  Sad.

Day 365 (730)

Pick. Up. Sticks. Loving this shot of a bunch of toothpicks (which we keep in a vintage orange juice glass).   Day 365 of my second year of doing this 365 Project thing.  730 straight days.  2014 wasn't as easy as 2013 but I am not too disappointed with the end results of this year's project.  I created a beautiful calender of my photos which means I had at least 13 photos I liked enough to share with my family. (: And I do see a definite improvement in my "skills" as a photographer.  At least I am not always just a picture taker.  ha! Wishing all of you who take the time to visit my blog a very Happy New Year.  Love and Peace to all of you.

Day 135 (500)

Favorite Day of Photos Today is the 500th day of doing a photo every day.  500 days!  I'm amazed. It's been an amazing learning process.  And such a self-discovery project. This project has never been about getting compliments or praise (unlike what some people have expressed).  This has been about making a commitment, holding myself accountable and to have the courage to put myself out there for all to see.  With the hope of maybe making someone's day a bit brighter.  This has been a crazy, busy week and today was no exception.  I really had hoped to get out of here to find something spectacular to photograph but I'm working on a few VERY short deadline projects (caused by my inability to say no) and just couldn't get away.  So instead I decided to use a photo from one of my favorite days of photos.  October 20,2013 - we were on our way back from a bodybuilding competition in Milwaukee and I just kept shooting out the wi...

Family... Day One is rather lame but it is so blasted cold.  I went out yesterday and I am going out tomorrow so I'm calling this a good photo shoot.  (: This charm bracelet was a gift from my children.  The tree is the Tree of Life which also represents my love of family historyresearch.  Each of the colored stone bands are my children's birth stones.

Frozen Splendor...       For almost 40 years we have lived in the Minneapolis area and until today we had never seen Minnehaha Falls frozen.  It was breathtaking in more than one way. It was -2 degrees out there today.  The top photo was taken from above the falls.  The middle one was taken from the bottom after slipping and sliding down the stairs that were somewhat barricaded.  It probably meant we weren't suppose to go down there but... The final picture was taken just before we got back to our car, my hands were so frozen I could hardly switch the setting to black and white and push the button to take the photo. Today is day 365 of my 365Project!   It has been an amazing journey.   The things I take with me from this project are numerous.   Here are a few: -There is beauty in everything around us.   -Take a deep breath and enjoy life. -My photos showed others the beauty surrounding them. ...

Pigment of my Imagination... I LOVE saying this "saying" wrong. (:  So I thought I'd take a photo or 100 photos trying to capture this saying.  Yes, I took 100 photos today and most of them are crap but that's the process some days. The above photo is what I thought of when I decided to try to capture the "Pigment of my Imagination".  If you look really hard you can see the semi-truck creating the yellow and red scriggly lines.  I could take photos like this all night long.  I just need someone to be the driver for the drive-by shootings. ha! The photo below is a different representation of "Pigment of my Imagination".  It was taken using the selective color setting on my camera.  The item in the photo is one of the suits I design and create.  The stone designs on ALL of my suits are most definitely a result of my imagination with a bit of pigment thrown in. (:

A Red Green Moment - one last time... Perfect. ONE red berry and just a bit of the green bush without even a pinch of cropping. I'm quite pleased with my last Red Green Moment of my 2013 365Project. (:

Happiness... I'm not sure why I titled it this because I'm not a huge chocolate fan anymore. I will eat it but I almost never crave chocolate.

Christmas Sunset... What a beautiful sunset on Christmas Day.  I walked out to the middle of the lake to capture a series of sunset photos.     The walk out wasn't too bad but after actually sitting down to take these photos I walked back to the house against a strong, cold north wind with a frozen, wet tush.  I am only adding these tidbits in case I forget the real story when I'm old and senile.  (:

Oh so clever (not)... The first couple of shots were with me sitting directly behind this ornament.  I knew my reflection was in the ornament which was fine.  But I thought I'd be clever and move off to the side and not have my reflection be in the photo. ha!  When I started looking at the uploaded photos I laughed at myself so hard I snorted!  So this is an awesome photo! (:  I love that I can laugh at myself.

A Day of Reflections... Today I almost allowed a negative conversation to make me miss taking pictures.  So glad I got my camera out because I AM better than that negative conversation.
