Taking a Chance

Image
There have a few times in the past few months where I have had a glimpse of something of interest to photograph.  But only in the past few days have I actually picked up my camera to take a shot.  To take a chance.   The break from the camera and from the blog were maybe not needed but creatively I was in a deep pit.  I have taken time to do many fun projects.  Some of which will be shared on a new blog which is currently being created.   So now for my first post in roughly three months.  This is the shadow of my granddaughter's sippy cup of cherry kool aid.  The green I do believe is the top of the cup.  It was just pretty so I took a bunch of shots.  This one was my favorite. These posts will be random.  Maybe.  I still have many projects in the works and in the wings.

Day 90, Year 3 (820)

Between You have to look really hard to find something different or unique to photograph outside at this time of year.  EVERY thing is duller than dull. But here is a ray of sunshine between the shadows. (:

Day 160 (525)

Sunlight.Shadows.Spiderwebs. Yes, I'm a little obsessed with this bush in my front yard.  It's just that I keep seeing something different about it every day.  Today, I actually spent a bit of time sitting in my wicker rocker with camera in hand.  The bush is RIGHT there so... Another tough day with no end in sight.  I feel like I'm wearing too many hats and I'm not doing any of them justice.  Too many things to do and none of them seem to be what I really would like to be doing.  (:   And I ALWAYS feel this way about this time of the season. It's short-lived.  But, I did get to spend most of the day with my crabby grandbaby.  And I got to sit in my rocker without any demands from anyone for almost an hour!!  So life is good?

I am wondering...   At first I didn't think this was very creative.  It kind of popped into my mind while sitting here wondering "What next?"  But, once again I wasn't looking at the whole scene when I snapped the picture.    If you look at the shadow surrounding the bejeweled question mark you will see my shadow.  My arm to the right.  My shoulder in the center.  And part of my head in the upper left.    I am wondering when I will always notice what I am photographing.  But maybe its okay to not always see the whole picture.  (:

Waiting for spring...   Spring can not get here soon enough.  I am so ready to flip these chairs right side up and sit in the sunshine.  Once again I was drawn to the shadows created by the chairs and the tree.

Snow, light, shadow...     After what seems like months of bitter cold weather we had a minor warm up tonight.  It went from 12 below zero this morning to 8 degrees above zero at dinner time.  With this slight warm up it started to snow -- pretty, big, fluffy snow flakes.  I love all the shadows being created by the spotlight and the way the snow glitters. And yes I do know that the months of bitter cold was actually only a few days.
