Day 146, Year 3 (876)

Image
Are you crazy? We had a duck couple wandering through our neighborhood this afternoon.  I grabbed my camera and stood in the rain on the very wet doorstep in stocking feet.  As the ducks waddle past on the other side of the street, the male stopped and looked straight at me.  I'm pretty sure he had that "Are you crazy?" look in his eye.  ha!  We were lucky today and all of the really heavy rain missed us.  We had either a constant drizzle or a steady rain.  Another very productive day.

Puddle Images While looking out the sliding glass door watching the rain I spotted these marvelous reflections in the puddle just outside the door.  So I opened the door and snapped a handful of puddle and drips photos.  I love the drip photos as well.  And you can make any kind of comment you want about drips.  ha! Loving the rain.  It is much needed and who doesn't need a dreary day to kick back and relax?

Happy Mother's Day! Too pretty.  (: A bit of rain on my Mother's Day gift.

Pretty in Pink Last night in my blog I said my yard would look and smell so pretty today and it does.  This is a blossom from one of our crab apple trees.  So very pretty.  Just a bit of today's rain remains on these blooms.

April Showers... Another old photo.  We've rain showers for a couple of days now.  Looking forward to these pretty flowers.  But enjoying this rain for now.

Day 355 (720)

Misty This was the extent of my adventure today.  My last thought before I fell asleep was that I should run away from home in the morning.  However, I actually slept in and it was snowing when I woke up.  Running away from home when it is snowing just didn't seem so appealing.  (: The shot I actually went out in the rain to get didn't turn out how I envisioned it. It was so very pretty in my mind but not so much in my camera. ha!  I saw the rain glistening on the branches out of the corner of my eye and took shots from 2 different angles.  This is the one that won.

Day 274 (639)

Crimson Rain A beautiful rainy day here in Minnesota today.  On my way out to the mailbox I spotted this beautiful leaf.  I love the little drips on the stem. Fall is my favorite time of year.  I love rainy days. And I love the color red.

Day 236 (601)

Can you smell the rain? In an attempt to show the details of what I photograph I shot only in black and white today.  Also comments have been made about the color green showing up a bit too much in my photos. (: This has not been taken as a derogatory comment but more as a challenge to see things differently. To find something new to photograph. I love the photo above because you can smell the rain and you can see the color green without it actually being there. I love the shadows and the layers of the leaves as well. The bottom photo's lighting adds a wonderful dimension to the leaves and the background.

Day 233 (598)

Dreary Details It took quite a few shots to get the details of the rain on the window.  At least getting it the way I wanted it. Another photo from our road trip home from Nashville.  I am still battling this really lovely cold. I'm trying to lay low and rest so I can function again.

Rainy Rearview View Rain, stoplights and more rain in the rearview mirror.

What we do for the sake of our art... Today is Mother's Day 2014 and instead of sleeping in I decided I should get out of my warm bed and go out and take some pictures as the sun was coming up.  It rained last night and I have wanted to get pictures of dew or rain drenched grass, flowers, etc. Above is the very first photo I took this morning while sitting on the very cold sidewalk.  I'm not sure I have a point that is actually in focus but I love it anyway. Just a close up.  It shows a bit more detail of the rain drops and the sunlight is perfect. This is the same bush from earlier in the week when there were only gray skies.  The color is so different with the morning sunlight.  And the texture is almost fuzzy, out of focus because of the moisture on the leaves.  And then there is all the spider webs.  (: By now my tush is frozen and my feet are soaked but saw this as the sun started to cover the yard. ...

Day 77

So ready for some rain and green. Obviously this wasn't taken today.  We got word our first grandchild was making their grand entrance into the world sooner or later.  I was too busy waiting to get the camera out.  (:

Need a little sunshine...   We need some sunshine so I can get the rest of this flower bed weeded.  And the lawn needs to be mowed.  :-) Photos a little blurry but it was raining and I was in a hurry.

My favorite...   hosta.  I can't wait for the first rainy night once these are big.  Rain falling on them makes the best sound to fall asleep to.   Today is the first day I did NOT take any photos since the beginning of my 365 Project.  It was a crazy busy day moving our youngest daughter home from college.  Taking photos just never crossed my mind whatsoever today.  This makes me very sad.
