I see you! Red squirrels aren't very common in our area.  For the past couple of years we've had what seems to be a solo red squirrel. This year we have an entire family of them.  They are so much fun to watch. This is Thursday, July 9th's photo.

Star Spangled Banner My Dad, sister Tammy Jo and I sat on the deck at the lake and watched several fireworks displays. The next door neighbors had a some really awesome ones.  The first time the flag was in my shot it was totally by accident.  This one was on purpose.

Family - The black and white of it. I'm not sure what I want to say.  I'm not sure there are words that express how the events in our world have affected our family. We are all angered with the lack of justice shown in our country, once again. I guess I just want to see peace and justice in our country for all our people.  But mostly for our black men to be treated with respect.  To not be provoked.  To not be accused of things they aren't guilty of.  And to receive justice when they are wronged.   I want ALL of our young men to step up and be good fathers.  Teach their children about equality.  Teach them about tolerance.  Teach them about how hatred destroys.  Teach them how good our world can be. Treasure or Junk? This morning was spent with my sister and my daughters at the  Mantorville Marigold Days Flea Market .  Tammy Jo and I used to do this every year, coming home with some awesome treasures.  I do believe all of my yard art is from this flea market. Some of the stuff is definitely junk but what an inspirational place.  I love coming back with new creative ideas.  Now I just need to get my act together and get busy with some of these ideas.   The best part is each of us came back with some fun treasures.   Hmmm... I see that blue snow sled and wonder how it didn't come home with me?  ha!

Day 241 (606)

Famous Potato Salad My Grandma Engel always made the best potato salad.  I'm so glad I can carry on the tradition. This bowl is for the birthday celebration tomorrow. And it may only be famous with my own family but that still makes it famous in my book. ha!

Day 1

Family... Day One is rather lame but it is so blasted cold.  I went out yesterday and I am going out tomorrow so I'm calling this a good photo shoot.  (: This charm bracelet was a gift from my children.  The tree is the Tree of Life which also represents my love of family historyresearch.  Each of the colored stone bands are my children's birth stones.
