Letters and Numbers (16)

2017 Day 16 January 24, 2017 This is a little bit of my industrial serger.  I prefer the days when it is in the off position versus the on position.  I love this machine.  I just don't love what I sew on it.  One of these days I will figure it out.  For now I am grateful for what I do. I took this photo from across the room and didn't realize how many letters and numbers are on the machine.

Day 76, Year 3 (806)

A story to be told... The last few days have been spent sitting in front of this machine.  While the baby is here it is harder to get much done because she is in EVERYTHING.   At the right end of the table there is a garbage can that catches the trimmed pieces of the suits.  Mara likes to get into this can and toss (like a wild woman) all these little scraps out on to the floor.  So she pretty much has to stay to my left side. Today she was sitting on the floor next to me tossing a pile of suits that had been serged together.  She turned towards the machine with a suit in her hands, put her foot on the "gas pedal" and held the suit up in the air towards the machine.  It was so cute.   It is amazing how much babies watch us and we don't even know it.  She has sat in my lap for a few seconds here and there but never did I think she would comprehend the basic process. She is the smartest little thing in the world.  But o...

Day 60, Year 3 (790)

Thank you! This weekend was spent working on two very fun and creative projects.  Mandi and I have been trying for most of the week to make a over sized tote bag for her current knitting project.  We got it started yesterday and finished it today.  It is the most awesome bag.  Ever.   When I have time to sew something "normal", something that isn't made out of spandex it is always a treat.  I love to sew and am so very thankful to my beautiful Mom for sharing her talents with me.  I love telling Mandi (who is teaching herself to sew) all the funny little things she would do while she was sewing.  And all the funny things she did while she wasn't sewing. Thank you Mom for all of your talents, your sense of humor and most of all your weirdness that you have passed on  to your children and your grandchildren and I'm sure we can make sure it gets passed on to the great grandchildren.  ha!  Love and miss you much!  ...

Day 191 (556)

Crazy, busy... Busy, busy day of sewing.  I'm trying to be ready to go out of town for a few days so need to keep my nose to the grindstone.  So you poor people who follow my blog are stuck once again with a photo of the flowers in my yard. The best part of doing totally mundane sewing is it gives me time to think.  I have a thought about a fun photo project which I may have time to work on once my class reunion is over.  I'm posting a request for some help with this idea but I think I got most of it figured out on my own.

Day 85

A bit of "pink" sewing. Wishing I wasn't quite so busy right now.  Working on a couple of things for our Mara Joy.  Wait until you see the grand thing I hope to get done this weekend.  (: There seems to be no time to do real photos.  Up at the crack of dawn trying to make sure all my clients are ready for their competitions.  Try to fit a bit of time in to sew baby things and still have a bit of time for myself.  Hmmm...

Rows and Stacks of Inspiration...   This is my one of my favorite places.  30,000 square feet of fabric, buttons, ribbons, trim and just about everything sewing you can imagine.  I left there today so inspired.  There will be some good things being made.  Stay tuned... This is a very terrible picture taken with my phone camera while dashing around to make sure I got to see EVERYTHING.  I spent the rest of the day creating so never got the big camera out.  Oh well.

One of Many...   My cute collection of mini sewing machines with one of my BIG machines.  I think the three of these little machines actually cost more than the real working machine.
