Lost or just found...   My hubby found this little nest in the yard and placed it on top of one of my glass garden mushrooms.

Grass at its finest...   Artificial turf for my hubby's golfing platform thingy he is building.  It never needs to be mowed.

I never promised...   they would ALL be GREAT photos.  This is shadows on my kitchen floor.  I've had two very creative days professionally and by the time I've quit working I haven't had any energy left to be creative with my photos.

Breaking the rules after all... (To see the full beauty of these photos, please click on them to enlarge)   Yesterday I took photos at a cemetery.  By the way I LOVE cemeteries. :)  When I got home I wanted to link my blog entry to the cemetery.  When I went to their website I found out NO photography is allowed.  So I didn't post the photos out of respect for those rules.  After having an extremely challenging day creatively yesterday this just about crushed me.  Today was an awesome day.  Both personally and professionally. Creative expression reigns.

Apartment buildings I have lived in...   Today while driving around South Minneapolis I stopped by two apartment buildings I have lived in.  The one above is the first place I lived in with my hubby.  The second one had all kinds of stories connected to it.  While living here many of the female tenants had lingerie disappear from the laundry room.  I had the misfortune of losing a very pretty nightie.  And also had the misfortune of finding out what happened to it.  One night I heard someone having a one-sided conversation under our window.  I looked out to find the blind guy who lived below us sitting on a car hood arguing with himself.  He was wearing a long blonde wig and MY nightie!  I have nightmares to this day!  ha!

Fuzzy Dice and all...   Date night with my hubby to celebrate the 38th anniversary of when we met.  We headed to Back to the Fifties at The Minnesota State Fair Grounds.   My camera battery died too soon but still got a bunch of good photos.  Here are a few of my favorites.  Some creative.  Some just great cars.  Enjoy!

Teapot reflections...   You can see the refrigerator, kitchen window with the pretty red light in it and a few cabinets.  Weird I know. But it IS what I do best.  ha!  Also a bit creative.

Pink Chandelier...   Doing this shot was on my photo "wish list".  We drive by Menard's all the time and I love the look of all the lights in their big windows. But alas, they are much prettier from a distance.  Oh well.  ha!

Pot 'o Gold...   So if there really is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow it would be just off shore from my Dad's dock on Lake Washington!  I had a hard time picking ONE photo again so...  In the second one you can actually see the colors of the rainbow on this cabin.  And there must be another pot of gold? :-)  Then in the last photo look close and you will see this rainbow is actually a double rainbow!   The funny thing about this is I had been out taking pictures of the rain and the wind and told my Dad I hadn't had the opportunity to take any pictures of a rainbow.  A few minutes later he said "There's your rainbow."

Whatcha doing out here son...   This is our surviving baby robin.  After our neighborhood hawk attacked the nest last evening this poor little guy fell out of the nest.  I think he was hanging on to the edge for dear life but just couldn't get himself back in.  He spent the day under a bush under the tree.  When the sun came out he hopped out into the sunny grass and snuggled in.  Hopefully he can survive on the ground long enough to learn to fly.

Another evening sky...   This is so not creative.  Today was an extremely busy day.  I just walked out onto my driveway - once again.  The only promise I made was to take pictures every day this year, I did NOT promise they would all be creative or wonderful or funny or any other such thing.  :-)

Walking canoe...   Not sure why this lady decided to carry her canoe back to the rental place at Lake Harriet this afternoon.  As you can see in the following photos she didn't make it very far before she had to put the canoe BACK down.  I had already seen her pick that thing up once before.

Side mirror and all...   This photo is totally unedited.  There were 4 versions of this shot.  3 of which I cropped out my car's side mirror.  This is the one I liked the best.    This is near sunset on Lake Cenaiko.   The colors and reflections were so perfect.

Confused maple tree...   every year this maple tree has at least two dozen colored leaves in the spring.  They stay this color throughout the summer.

Worth the wait...   Today we got a good look at our baby robins.  There seems to be just two of them.  The leaves on the tree were in the way to see the second one but this was the best shot of the day.  The parents allow me to walk up to within about 20 feet of the tree without having too many issues.  They only swooped at me once while I waited for the babies to pop their little heads up.  There are two other views of the babies in the photos below.  Then there is one more photo of more wildlife in our front yard.    You can click on the photos to make them bigger to see all the details.

Still waiting...   to see the baby robins.  I saw one little head for a second this morning but mom flew away and sat in the yard the entire time I stood in the doorway waiting for her to come back so that little head would pop up again.  I waited an eternity and finally gave up and went in the house.  Below is mom sitting in the yard waiting to see which of us could hold out the longest.  She won.

Overlooked scenery, almost...   There is a scenic overlook at a rest stop on I-94/90 (westbound) just east of Black River Falls, WI.  Today on our way back from Wis Dells we stopped at this rest stop and in the rain walked the trail to the scenic overlook.  It was too rainy and foggy to get any real good scenic photos.  But this is pretty scenery, if I may say so myself.

The little ant that could...   This little guy was hauling whatever this is across our driveway while we were packing the car for our road trip.  I warned everyone NOT to step on him because he had worked so hard to get his prize as far as he had.  So glad this photo turned out.  I took some spectacular photos in Wisconsin but this is the one I picked for the photo of the day.

I know, I know...   Today was a busy, busy day.  This entire week has been crazy.  At 10:15PM I finally stopped working.  I then realized I had not taken any pictures yet.  Our bedroom has an African theme and this is a mask hanging on our wall.  Below is a bit more creative "angle" on this mask.  I find it hilarious mostly because it just is.  ha!  But this IS day 152 of my photo journal and I am very proud of myself for doing this EVERY day.
