Worth the wait...
 
I'm so glad I had a bit of patience this morning.  When I walked into my family room I scared ALL of the birds away from the birdfeeder.  Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal were there, along with Mr. and Mrs. Blue Jay and a woodpecker. 
 
Mr. Cardinal is the only one that came back and this is the only view I had of him for the longest time.  I figured I'd wait and see if he came around the corner and hoped he didn't just fly away. But finally he DID peek around the corner just long enough for me to snap his picture.
 
Now to get a picture of those blue jays.  I swear they know I'm going for the camera and fly away just because of it.  One of these days.

Hippie Potions and Lotions

Fun day today.  The past several days have been spent getting things done before we leave for Florida.  My business is the most organized it has ever been.  This morning I cleared my custom order board and mailed out all pending orders.  Late this morning I headed for the kitchen and created some wo nderful lotions. The pretty peppermint jars contain "Peppermint Perfection", a luscious hand balm that has a heavenly peppermint scent. The "Green Stuff" is a boo-boo salve.  It works great on cuts, burns, very dry skin and it stops bug bites from itching. And the pretty lotion in the middle is "Mara's Magical Moisturizer" which I created for my granddaughter to help relieve some of her dry skin caused by eczema.  This is a new and improved version.  I am hoping this will work even better than the last batch. Not in this photo is the body wash I made.  Super rich and its wonderful smell is peppermint and sweet orange. The fun

The Witch's Hat... Stumbled across this quite by mistake today.  It took a little bit of four wheel driving to get up to the top of the hill due to MORE fresh snow overnight.  After a slippery walk up a bunch of steps and a snowy hill there was the most fabulous view of the beautiful city of Minneapolis.  This landmark is known as the "Witch's Hat".  This water tower was built in 1913 and sits in Prospect Park which is the highest natural spot in the city. With the lamp post in the foreground doesn't this remind you of Narnia -- The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe?
