One more vacation picture. More snow is coming tomorrow and these help me to hang on to the warmth just a bit. (: Kiteboarding is seriously my favorite part of the beach. Watching these wonderful athletes is a treat, getting to take photos of them is an added bonus. Thank you to all of them for the passion they have for their sport.

If I hadn't been sick I probably would have gone down and straightened out the chairs that were out of place. And then retak en this photo. It shouldn't drive me so crazy but it does. (: But I love how perfect the shadows are and how centered the photo is. This is the view of one of our patios from our balcony.

Yet another favorite photo from vacation. I am slowing posting photos hoping to hang onto the vacation for as long as possible. This year the wind was the strongest it has ever been which made taking good photos a challenge. The kiters were moving so fast. My camera probably has more bad and almost good photos than good and great ones. I am so grateful for every opportunity I have to take photos of these amazing athletes.

When I took this photo I was hoping it would be exactly as I saw it through the lens. This is another of my favorite photos from vacation. This is Leo or better known as "The Big Kahuna". I loved how he kited downwind from the rest of the kiters. So the title could also be Sunrise Solitude. Another photo that is a reminder to be grateful for the simple things, for the beautiful things in life.

This is one of my favorite photos from our most recent stay in Florida. This young woman had a sunrise routine which consisted of yoga on the beach and wading into the ocean for a quick swim. As she left the beach she would raise her hand. I believe she was giving thanks to the Universe for another day. Each sunrise I was grateful for being there on the beach to see such a beautiful gift from the Universe. Gratitude is the key to a happy life. If you can't be grateful for what you do have you don't deserve anything more.

This is my great grandfather Frederick Wilhelm Gustav Engel. This is one of my favorite photos of Grandpa Gus. There is something so familiar about him. Is it just because we belong to each other? The pocket watch was handed down oldest son to oldest son. When my uncle died my cousins gave it to my Dad who turned around and gave it to me. It took me almost two years to figure out what to do with the watch. But with the help of my hubby making this custom shadow box I have the perfect place for this family memento. I love being the "keeper" of my family history. Genealogy is what I LOVE to do. I always say "If this paid better this is all I would do." Edit: I had thought about cleaning and shining the watch but then started to think about all of the people who had touched it over time. Gus and probably my great grandmother Mary. Their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. As well as great, great gr...

This is one of our many flower beds. This is the one that I can see from my inside my house. This is the one that stresses me the most. Because I can see every tiny weed. But it is all beautiful now. Things are growing. It needs more color in it but I'm far from being a gardener so I'm not sure what to do. I do have a friend who is a master gardener who may get a message from me in the next day or so. (: This was a lot of work to do all by myself. I am tired and very sore. But it is done. And my face is sun-kissed and that alone makes me happy. Peace and love!

Windy, windy, windy. Loved seeing all of the kiteboarders on Lake Washington this weekend. I have many great shots but this one was my favorite. Who says you can't kiteboard in Minnesota in April? The house and trees look much closer than they really were. I was across the lake from this. It was a great weekend at the lake with all of my siblings and our Dad. Lots of laughs.

This is the love of my life. We've had a few challenging days lately but I wouldn't trade my days with her for anything. Well, maybe 2 minutes in the bathroom by myself. (: Her outfit of choice today - navy and gray striped footie pajamas with a monster on the front with a pink tutu and Superman slipper socks. And don't forget the curls and the red sequin crown. And the stuffed zebra who was her "puppy" all day.

2017 Day 16 January 24, 2017 This is a little bit of my industrial serger. I prefer the days when it is in the off position versus the on position. I love this machine. I just don't love what I sew on it. One of these days I will figure it out. For now I am grateful for what I do. I took this photo from across the room and didn't realize how many letters and numbers are on the machine.
