Day 135, Year 3 (865)


Floored.

When you spend most of your weekend manning your business' booth at a bodybuilding competition there isn't much time for photo taking.  At least ones that aren't of bodybuilders (I have plenty of those over the past 16 years).  

This one was taken while squatting on the floor attempting to get photos of shoes.  Everyone seemed to be in such a hurry so I just un-zoomed the lens and started shooting.  

There was some amount of intrigue when I downloaded this photo so it become today's photo. Good enough reason in my book. ha!

Also, after typing this I realized I have never taken a photo of a bodybuilder for my 365 Project.  At least not that I remember.  They've been a part of my life for a really long time and haven't made it on my photo blog.  Sad.

Hippie Potions and Lotions

Fun day today.  The past several days have been spent getting things done before we leave for Florida.  My business is the most organized it has ever been.  This morning I cleared my custom order board and mailed out all pending orders.  Late this morning I headed for the kitchen and created some wo nderful lotions. The pretty peppermint jars contain "Peppermint Perfection", a luscious hand balm that has a heavenly peppermint scent. The "Green Stuff" is a boo-boo salve.  It works great on cuts, burns, very dry skin and it stops bug bites from itching. And the pretty lotion in the middle is "Mara's Magical Moisturizer" which I created for my granddaughter to help relieve some of her dry skin caused by eczema.  This is a new and improved version.  I am hoping this will work even better than the last batch. Not in this photo is the body wash I made.  Super rich and its wonderful smell is peppermint and sweet orange. The fun

The Witch's Hat... Stumbled across this quite by mistake today.  It took a little bit of four wheel driving to get up to the top of the hill due to MORE fresh snow overnight.  After a slippery walk up a bunch of steps and a snowy hill there was the most fabulous view of the beautiful city of Minneapolis.  This landmark is known as the "Witch's Hat".  This water tower was built in 1913 and sits in Prospect Park which is the highest natural spot in the city. With the lamp post in the foreground doesn't this remind you of Narnia -- The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe?

Beauty is in the eye... With too many people obsessing about the horrible events in the past day or so I am choosing to see the beauty in our country.  I'm not sticking my head in the sand but I am so very tired of all the horrible news that is being shared on Facebook.   Life is hard enough without creating fear and apprehension in our lives because of something that happened across the country.  Something the media has put some "terrorist" twist on. Yes, these events are worrisome but I can't live my life being held hostage to someone else's fears.  Or someone else's spin on world events. My plan is to continue this blog to show there is beauty (and a bit of humor) in every thing - we just need to see it.  Because it IS there.  By the way, this is a mushroom that baked in the sun. It still has a unique beauty to it.
