At warp speed... We pass this little country church on our trips to my Dad's house. About a mile from this church there is a hill and from the top of the hill there is this fabulous view of the entire valley with the church sitting in the middle. Normally, I am the one driving and there isn't a safe place to stop and take a picture. Since my hubby was driving I figured we could safely slow down enough for me to take a quick picture without having to get out of the car. I had the camera already long before we got there and I asked if he could please slow down so I could take a quick picture of the church while we were at the top of the hill. Since he was driving at warp speed to begin with I guess he thought slowing down to a more normal speed was what I wanted so this is what I got. It's still pretty with the setting sun reflecting in the windows but it wasn't what I wanted. Maybe next time?...

July 24, 1985 - Age 2 Today this sweet little boy turned 30! Where does the time go? He's still sweet and still almost this cute!

Night scene... I was actually in search of a good place to get a shot of tonight's full moon. By the time I had made up my mind where to go it was hiding behind the clouds. Since the bugs were horrible I decided not to wait for it to reappear.

Obsession... I was already in bed when I realized I had spent most of my evening reading and had forgotten to take any pictures. Since reading had been the reason I had forgotten, I pulled together some of my more favorite books for a photo shoot. Mostly, I love sci-fi fantasy books -- Kings, dragons, wizards and quests. The author, David Eddings pretty much covers that for me. Who doesn't love Lord of the Rings and A Game of Thrones series? But my favorite books are anything about Merlin - the Mary Stewart series and King Arthur - the Jack Whyte series. Throw in a few mysteries and life is good. But don't expect me to pay attention to ANYTHING that is going on around me. Once I start a book that is the world I am living in.

Camera Lessons... Today I took a little time to learn how to use the various settings on my camera. I like the look of black and white photos so instead of editing them to be black and white I took them as black and white photos. This wasn't the best one but the most interesting one.

One of today's fun projects... Last project of the day. Its really hard to tell but there is one coat of the pretty gold paint already on in the walls in the bathroom.

Black and White photo... or The Colors of Our House... or Two old hands... My plan was to voice my opinion on a few negative and derogatory comments made on Facebook. But I'm not going to waste my energy. For the past 38 years I have dealt with other people's ignorance. No matter what I have to say it will not change how people think and act. My photo -- is comment enough.

These berries = purple bird poop... This year's crop of mulberries is the biggest we've seen in the 11 years we have lived in this house. This photo only shows what is on ONE branch of the tree. We have several branches that are so heavy with berries they are almost touching the ground! I don't think we can even pre-apologize to our neighbors for the upcoming purple poop that will be splatted on their houses, cars and patio furniture. If it's any consolation our patio furniture and house tak a beating as well.

Invasive weed or something more interesting... My neighbor lady nags at me every spring to get rid of the milkweed in my front flower beds. She says they are invasive weeds, ugly and just plain messy. I disagree. These flowers attract butterflies and bees. And when in full bloom smell so very wonderful. Watch them closely in late summer and you will see caterpillars eating away the leaves. And then in the fall they have those wonderful pods of silk. I do agree they are a little messy at that point but I still find them fascinating.

Tonight's movie with the hubby... Not a very creative photo op but we went to a wake tonight. We stopped for dinner and decided to lay low and watch a good western when we got home. Tom Selleck as Monte Walsh is just about as good as they get! :-)

Tough day... I had very little sewing to do today but broke THREE needles all on one suit. The first broken needle shattered. The second one went straight through the swimsuit hook I was sewing on. I tried to pull the needle out of the hook but no luck. We love the litte bit of thread that is stuck in the needle. The last one caught the edge of the hook and bent the needle.
