Last fall I crocheted dishcloths that I really love.  Now I decided I need some new and better potholders.  I started searching for a pattern and fell in love with this pattern.  However, it was poorly translated from Finnish to English and I just couldn't figure out how to add the second color.

There are many websites with this crochet pattern but no other one in English.  I found versions in Swedish, German, Norwegian and many in Finnish. Finally I found a YouTube video in Norwegian.  (I think) that showed how to do the second color which I watched over and over until I figured it out.  Of course I can't find that video again to share here.

Now that I know how to make them they are so simple and pretty quick to make.  Also quite cute. A second one is in the works with enough yarn to make at least a third one.  Snow is coming tonight.  Not much but a great excuse to crochet.  Right?  ha!

Hippie Potions and Lotions

Fun day today.  The past several days have been spent getting things done before we leave for Florida.  My business is the most organized it has ever been.  This morning I cleared my custom order board and mailed out all pending orders.  Late this morning I headed for the kitchen and created some wo nderful lotions. The pretty peppermint jars contain "Peppermint Perfection", a luscious hand balm that has a heavenly peppermint scent. The "Green Stuff" is a boo-boo salve.  It works great on cuts, burns, very dry skin and it stops bug bites from itching. And the pretty lotion in the middle is "Mara's Magical Moisturizer" which I created for my granddaughter to help relieve some of her dry skin caused by eczema.  This is a new and improved version.  I am hoping this will work even better than the last batch. The other day...

Last week Miss Mara had a sleepover at Mimi's house.  She wanted to make the biggest EVER pile of leaves.  This is the end result.  And I do believe someone is hiding in that VERY large pile of leaves. Love this little girl child with all that I am.
